Mr. Young was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. He attended and graduated from Kaimuki High School and the University of Hawaii. He received his first law degree from the University of Hawaii in 1980 where he received the first place award for a tax paper in the Nathan Burkan Memorial Competition and received the American Jurisprudence Award in Estate Planning.
Mr. Young received his second law degree from the University of Florida, a Masters in Law, an LL.M. in Taxation. Mr. Young is a frequent lecturer on estate and tax planning for various retirement programs, including Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, financial planners, insurance companies, labor and credit unions, civic, church, and professional groups on Oahu, Kauai, Maui, and the Big Island.
Mr. Young is the former Chairman and Director of The Arthritis Foundation, Hawaii Branch, and former Director of Winners at Work, Honolulu.
Mr. Young lives in Honolulu; is married and has two grown children.
